"...Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these…You did it to Me."
Mathew 25:40 NKJV
DECEMBER 2022
The Rock the Silence Team is very grateful for your consistent support! Every penny counts in the Kingdom of God and spreading His Love and Good News! We get to minister out in many different ways besides concerts, teaching old and young people sign language and signs to songs. Teaching Bible studies and running prayer groups are important parts of what we do as well. We are ‘on call’ to do whatever the Lord asks of us! We pray your family and loved ones have a blessed Christmas and New Year. We know for some the holidays can be sad as we have all experienced loss over the years, but as we keep our eyes on the Lord and the Real Reason we have CHRISTmas and not keep our eyes on the traditions of the worlds way of celebrating, our focus changes and it eases our hearts! May the real Joy of the season fill your hearts to overflowing and have a Merry Christmas!
We are closing out all our classes and teaching for 2022 with end of year programs and gatherings. New classes will begin again in January. We are excited to see what the Lord has in 2023 for all of us. We have great visions and pray the Lord helps them unfold in the New Year.
We had our first Christmas Concert at Cocoa Evangelistic Center and it was a wonderful time in the Lord. We had the three teens that Donna has been working with and teaching signs to music minister 4 songs during our concert. They were warmly received by the congregation! This was their first time ministering in another church like this. We have seen the Lord using us to raise up a next generation of young people to sign to music. There are a few adults that have requested to learn a song or two as well. God gifts us to give to others and share what we have with.
2020
We want you to know during these times of isolation & uncertainty, perhaps you’re facing things with your family, your business or a job, and even your health, that we have been praying for you daily. You are not forgotten by us and especially not by God.
We want you to know we are here for you in any way we can be. Please feel free to call, text or email us with your prayer requests or needs. If we can’t help, we may know someone who can. We know that prayer is ultimately the most important thing we can offer you and your families because we know God is so much greater than what we can offer. The Bible lets us know that He is always with us, He never leaves us and He knows our needs and is a God who answers prayer. So let’s remember we’re in this together and we serve a God who will help us through this season.
We are being stretched to learn some technical things like putting our children’s church classes on our church Facebook page for the kids to be able to watch while they are homebound. We also had to learn Zoom because that is the way our homeschool sign language classes are now being taught. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to learn how to do this; pray we learn to do it well and can still get the Gospel message out through online technology. We are grateful to God that we do live in a technical society where we can still have church and broadcast the Gospel message across the airwaves.
Thank you for your faithful support and giving that helps us through this season. All concerts have been canceled and we are unable to start any new sign language classes. You are a blessing in our lives.
2019
This is the month to be THANKFUL and we are very thankful to God for you. We live in a day and age where people don’t care about being faithful, consistent or loyal, that is why your years of support and encouragement to us has been cherished and valued by Rock the Silence! We pray for each of you by name every day. We truly thank God upon our every remembrance of you!
We are rejoicing this Christmas season that we were asked back to the Melbourne Square Mall to be a part of their annual Holiday Showcase. Many malls don’t allow any Christian representation of the holiday displayed. Our first concert at the mall was December 1999. This year’s concert is on Friday, December 20th and that is our 20th year of ministering Christmas concerts! Come join us if you can or be in prayer for this year’s Signs of Christmas concerts. We covet your prayers as we minister the real reason for the season!
In the New Year we will be celebrating our 20th year of ministry. It has been a journey of teaching sign language classes to the community and to homeschool students, ministering in concerts in prisons, senior rehabs, churches of all denominations and events, touring up the East coast to Maine and going across to Ohio and being flown to California, outreaches to the homeless and ministering on the streets, leading deaf Bible studies and so much. We have met so many wonderful people over the years. We have sat and been mentored by pastors and evangelists, been a part of church plants (small churches just starting out). All that God has called us to do we do with the help of you responding to His call in supporting us with your monthly support, prayers and encouragement.
We continue to meet every Wednesday night at 6:00 PM in the mall food court near Starbucks to Rap ‘bout Dat! This has been a great time to ask questions of all types on the Bible. Searching the Word of God for the answers has helped everyone grow spiritually as well. This is also open to anyone walking by at the time. We’ve had several people stop and chat with us a bit and then go about their shopping. We are getting known being there. We believe in consistency!
October
We are thankful for all the prayers that went out for all of us that were facing Hurricane Dorian. We were blessed here on the east coast of Florida. Our prayers continue for the Bahama’s and those still facing this strong hurricane!
We pray for children and grandchildren across this land. Things we can’t even totally imagine are being introduced to children so young in this generation. We pray for godly teachers and authorities to rise up. We pray protection in every way for these precious little ones!
We are in the midst of another 15 week session sign language semester with the home school students. This will take us right through to a few weeks before Christmas. We are excited for this opportunity with another great group of great students!
We continue with our second level sign language class with a few adults from the community. We have enjoyed this small class. It has 2 couples and each couple spends time together at home practicing the lessons. We met for one of the classes with them at the Melbourne Square Mall on Thursday, August 22nd for the monthly Deaf Social that gathers. Deaf adults and children, college sign language students and interpreters for the deaf were there. This was a great hands-on experience!
We are in the process of making our own Rock the Silence sign language book that corresponds with our Basic Beginners Sign Language DVD. This is a 20 year overdo project. The timing was all Gods and we knew it was the right time to put this together. We met a very ambitious young lady who is earning community hours for her scholarship for college who takes beautiful pictures. She earned hours taking photos of us and adding arrows to them to show the direction of the hand movement! She did a great job! Now we are putting the descriptions under each sign. This is all new territory for us and doing it low budget ourselves so it is taking us longer, as we are not computer savvy.
We continue to meet at the Melbourne Square Mall for Rap ‘bout Dat. Great questions have been asked and discussed along with searching what Gods Word says on the topic. This is open to anyone, even strangers passing by in the mall that read our sign or see us there every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm consistently. We even had a Deaf sister and brother show up one Wednesday from Vero Beach. It’s a blessing to still be able to do this in these changing times and we always intend on taking advantage of the public opportunities!

Hello, Friends!
Happy New Year! We pray that you ended 2018 with grateful hearts for all God has pulled you through and blessed you with! Also, it’s our prayer that we all start 2019 with hearts of faith and anticipation of what God is about to do in all of our lives and ministry.
As Rock the Silence enters our 19th year of ministry and God opens new doors in 2019, we will be limiting our concerts to three (3) major themed worship events: Easter, Patriotic, and Christmas concerts. This will mean that, if you plan on booking Rock the Silence for your church or organization, you will need to plan ahead and get us on your calendar and you on our calendar! We are sending this as a reminder to those who have booked us in the past and as information for people who are just becoming acquainted with our ministry and may be interested in booking us in the future.
The three concert time frames will be as follows:
• EASTER concerts may be scheduled during the two weeks prior to Easter Sunday or the one week following. (Sunday, April 7 to Sunday, April 28)
• 4th OF JULY concerts may be scheduled during the last week of June or first week of July. (Sunday, June 23 to Sunday, July 7)
• ‘SIGNS’ OF CHRISTMAS concerts may be scheduled during the first two weeks of December. (Sunday, December 1 to Sunday, December 15.
All worship concerts are one (1) hour long with a ½ hour set-up time prior and ½ hour breakdown time afterwards. Rock the Silence comes on a love offering basis (the passing of a plate or basket to the attendees to give as they feel led), or the group hosting Rock the Silence can give a set donation amount. This is all discussed in the details listed on the confirmation paperwork.
To confirm a booking for a concert, the person in charge of the event needs to contact our office at 321-446-1802 and give the date, time and details of the event. We will present the information to our board and confirm availability. Once confirmed, we will contact you with a written confirmation of the details discussed for the event or with an alternative. This makes sure we are all on the same page and prevents any misunderstandings at the time of the event.
We will continue to offer Basic Sign Language classes to the community and individuals throughout the year. These are six (6) week classes that run for one (1) hour each week. The cost is $60.00 per person and payment is due at the first class registration. These classes are packed with lots of Deaf and Hard of Hearing information, vocabulary and one (1) praise song each week. This is a great way for individuals to see if sign language is for them before they invest in college and more expensive classes. There are scholarships available for individuals who have a financial need and a love for the language.
Please contact our office if you have any questions, to book a concert, to check for class dates or for prayer: call at - 321-446-1802 or email us - rockthesilence@yahoo.com

2018
We are so blessed to have you in our lives and share the journey God has us on with all of you! Your faithfulness to support Rock the Silence has allowed us to do what God called us to do and go where God has called us to go! You are a part of every life touched by sign language and music in our concerts and in our sign language classes, as well as all those lives touched on the roadsides that were blessed with items on cold days & nights. You may be amazed in Heaven when you get extra jewels in your crown for lives touched here on earth! Thank you seems like two small words to express our love and appreciation for you!
We have just a few weeks left for our 2 sign language classes with the Homeschool junior/senior high children that will be ending for the summer. The students will be signing their song in our Anchor Care concert on Wednesday, April 25th. This is an exciting time for the students to share what they’ve learned and minister to the residents with us. They have invited us to their end of year program and they will be signing their song in the program as well. This has been a great semester! They have already invited us back to teach in their fall semester! This is an exciting season working with these students.
We are meeting two Thursdays a month with the Deaf adults for a Bible study. This is a great time for them to ask any questions they have from church sermons to anything they don’t understand that they have read in the Bible. You are a part of us ministering the Gospel to this local mission field in our community. It is a small group now, but as the Lord provides a location for us to meet at, we believe more Deaf will join us! Please be in prayer that we can find a location near the highway to offer our sign language classes and Bible studies to the community on an ongoing basis in Melbourne, Florida. This has been our hearts desire for years and we pray that this is the year the Lord will show us where and make a way of provision for this to happen. Perhaps out of that Rock the Town Café will be birthed as well. We have our 501c3 non-profit status and logo for the café; we are just praying for the provision, building and knowledge needed to press forward. With the help of your prayers we believe God is moving and will answer us!
We continue to minister at Anchor Care Rehab the fourth Wednesday of every month. It has been a blessing to share so many old hymns and new Christian songs with them over the years. We are not good singers, but we enjoy taking time during the concert where the residents sing songs and share their favorites with us. We have seen hearts come to know the Lord over the years and know where their eternity will be! God’s Peace has overshadowed so many of them and it’s been an honor to be a part of their spiritual journeys.

DECEMBER
We are blessed to have you as part of our Rock the Silence family! As we close out our 17th year of ministry words can’t express how much we appreciate your faithful support over the years. God has opened so many different doors for us over the past years of ministering in prisons, to the homeless & those in need, in nursing homes and assistant living facilities, teaching sign language classes to adults and to homeschooled students, as well as our concerts in churches of all denominations. Your support is the gift from God that allows us to go wherever He leads us.

We have been teaching a Deaf Bible Study for the past year in Palm Bay FL. We have seen wonderful spiritual growth! One lady wanted to be water baptized and it was a great time and experience to be a part of her next step in her public profession of Christ and her spiritual journey! Matthew 28:19
JULY
We were asked to join the Chaplain at Anchor Care for their monthly Celebration of Life the last Friday in June. This is a special time when they invite family members whose loved ones have passed away. The Chaplain shares a message and something memorable about each person and we ministered with a few songs.
We continue to hold Bible studies with the Deaf on Thursday nights. We meet in a deaf couple’s home and share the Word of God in their language. We have seen great spiritual growth and understanding developing in them. We also allow time for prayer requests and praise reports. They are getting to see that God answers their prayers! The majority of those that come have attended church for years and a few are newly saved and just learning. Afterwards we fellowship with them and avail ourselves to answer any questions they may have about the hearing world we live in. This is our local mission field here in the Palm Bay/Melbourne area of Florida.
We were able to participate in Vacation Bible School with our home church Gospel Life and Peace Lutheran. We taught the children eight songs in sign language and movements. They were able to do all the songs for their families in the Friday night program. Sunday, July 2nd we had our annual Patriotic Concert at Gospel Life and the children who attended VBS were able to share one of the songs they learned and some scriptures they learned in sign language too. It was a great time!
We are actively involved with the Celebrate Recovery meetings held at our local church. They offer open groups on Friday and a step study on Tuesday nights. These meetings are for anyone with hurts, habits and hang-ups. Lisa was given the opportunity to facilitate the women’s group while the leader was on vacation for the month of May. We believe that this is also preparing us for when the Lord opens the doors of Rock the Town Café to better minister to those in the community. Lisa will also be going to a Celebrate Recovery training Summit in July with the leaders involved from our church. This is another way God is using us to touch lives in the community and better minister His Love and the Gospel.
APRIL
We pray that you had a blessed Easter! Remembering God’s Love sent to us through His Son Jesus Christ! We rejoice in knowing that we serve a risen Savior and because He Lives we want to share the gospel message of this wonderful Love!
Rock the Silence had a great time ministering in concert at Heart of the Father for Brevard County in Merritt Island on Good Friday morning. They had a time of prayer, communion, our concert and a luncheon followed. It was a nice start to the Easter Weekend!
Rock the Silence offered to the community on Saturday’s four of their Basic Sign Language classes. They were held on April 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Gospel Life Church, 4500 Dixie Highway, Palm Bay, FL. These classes will be for a donation of any amount. All ages welcomed. We asked that children be able to sit in class for an hour and accompanied by an adult. There have been 18 people in attendance at the classes.

We continue to minister in the assistant living homes and at Anchor Care Rehab facility monthly. We also assist the chaplain at Anchor care with music for their celebration of life services held quarterly for the families that lost loved ones there.
JANUARY
Happy New Year! We pray God’s richest blessings on 2017 for you and your loved ones. May this year be healthy and joyous for you! We look forward to another year of partnering with you and together being God’s hands and feet to those around us!
The last few months of 2016 were a wonderful way to end a year! We were able to offer the Love of God along with a complete Thanksgiving dinner and dessert to 75 people that joined us on Thanksgiving Day. We were also able to send 45 complete dinners in to-go boxes to those on the streets in the Melbourne FL area. Because you have partnered with us and in obedience to Gods Word about giving, we know God will bless you and take care of your needs as well. He is Faithful to His Word! We know everyone that received a meal was grateful to God and you! We had a full month in December with our “Signs” of Christmas concerts. We had our annual concerts at local churches and many assistant livings and were able to return to the Melbourne Square Mall for our last concert of the season. It has been wonderful to have our Pastor and Gospel Life Church family joining and supporting us during Thanksgiving and Christmas events. We attended a Deaf Christmas party with many of the deaf we have Bible study with twice a month and met many new deaf people as well.
We will continue to hold Bible studies with the Deaf, minister in concerts and hold sign language classes for young and old in 2017.

If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
APRIL
It is God’s heart and our hearts as well to reach all people with the message of Jesus Christ so that none may perish. (The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9) We have shared that at this present time we minister in a lot of assistant livings weekly and monthly concerts. The Word of God is clear that we have a responsibility to the widow and orphan. We are spiritually nurturing and feeding these precious men and women in these facilities. We have grown to love them and we see the Spirit of God come alive inside them!
We also attend a Deaf Bible study twice a month. It is so important that they understand the Bible in their language. Many people think that sign language is the same as English, just said on our hands. However, that is not true. It is like a room filled with only Spanish speaking people and the pastor only preaches in English. It’s not their language so they do not understand the message. That is why if a church has a Deaf Ministry, it is important to have a skilled interpreter, but also Deaf Bible study groups are important to have discussion time and make sure each deaf person is learning and growing spiritually. It is wonderful to see them learning and hear Praise Reports of answered prayers.
For the past three months we have launched a small prayer group to pray and we meet once a month. We pray for our nation, government, military and each state in these changing times. Prayer is important, praying together is powerful, and America is in great need of prayer. We believe this group will grow and increase in size as we begin to share it with others. Please pray for us to find the right location to hold the prayer time as we grow.
MARCH
We are so blessed to have you as a faithful supporter as we minister to those who are elderly in assistant livings, those in rehabs after surgery, those on the streets in need of hats, water, socks, gloves and hygiene items, and to those who are deaf as well as the hearing who come to concerts and are ministered to by songs and the testimonies that we share. You are a gift from God that allows us to bring so much to those in need of a touch from Him. Your sacrificial gift will help us press forward in 2016 with the many things God has planned for us to do.
We are still having some colder nights here in Florida and we continue to hand out the filled hats to those on the streets. We always pray for God to direct us to the right people in need as we drive around. One day we placed two pairs of ladies shoes in the car (size 9 and 8 ½ shoes); as we drove around we saw two women, one had thin little dollar flip-flops on and it was cold out. We rolled down the window and asked if they would like a hat filled with items. They walked over to the car. We realized it was a mother with her teenage daughter. We gave them two filled hats for women and offered the shoes. Guess what sizes they were? Yep, the daughter was an 8 ½ and the mother was size 9. Amazing how God lead us right to them and the sizes were exact! In the filled hats were brand new socks for them to put on with their shoes. This is just one of many stories that we experience as we drive around.
JANUARY
Happy New Year!
Every month we enter into assistant living homes and facilities to minister, and in some cases a generation of people who are forgotten. We love that we have an opportunity to share music and the Joy of the Lord with these precious people; some even call us “church.” Think about the fact that most of them are not taken to church and are placed in front of a television with some show on, and not much has anything to do with God; so this is a wonderful opportunity to minister to them. We have experienced a few that have passed away and we were able to comfort the other residents. Also, we had the assurance that they were saved and are now in Heaven! Praise God! Thank you for being a part of every place we go; your support helps us help others. It’s your prayers and support that help us minister to people of all ages and in all different situations in life.
On our colder days here in Florida so we have handed out over 80 of the beautiful hats that were made. They are filled with the items collected to those who are in need on the streets. We went under the bridge by the river and were able to provide these items and tarps to help those who are sleeping on the concrete and feeling the cold winds from the water. One man had his leg in a boot from falling and we had the opportunity to pray with him. We appreciate the donations that have come in to help us bless those who are less fortunate and bring them ‘gifts from God!’ Thank you for your prayers and support with this outreach.
Again, it is our prayer that you have a blessed New Year ahead of you! We pray health and prosperity for you and your family members. We thank God for you!
